| Why I Am Not A Democrat |
First of all, I believe America became the shining light on the hill because of its citizens and not its government. The Democrat Party feels big government is the cause of the greatness of America. Excuse me, I almost forgot, that can’t be right since many Democrats, including the current Democrat President, travel around the world talking about the evils of America. Good grief. America has helped more people in the world than any other nation in history. That is a fact!
I believe Americans have the knowledge, strength and the work ethic to succeed without the government telling them what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. The Democrats think you are not qualified to control your own decisions and they are better qualified to control your lives. I will never support a party whose national platform supports the eradication of the young. There are many reasons for this statement – religious, yes, but also there are practical reasons that would be too drawn out to get into now as I have in previous columns. Under Obamacare, a panel of non-doctors in Washington will decided if and when you will receive medical treatment as opposed to you and your doctor. Whether you get treatment or not will be based on cost, not on your medical condition and doctors will lose their licenses if they do not comply with the committee’s decision regarding how they have been instructed to administer the treatment of a patient. This information comes from a speaker who spoke on behalf of www.docs4patientcare.com, a group of doctors nationwide (and other members) who have been fighting Obamacare on our behalf since the beginning of its prospective existence. I support a strong national defense. In fact, many Americans believe that is the primary purpose of the federal government. Obama is on the verge of depleting our military and will make us a weaker nation. This just does not make sense. I would never support any congressperson who said, “To find out what is in the bill we must first pass the bill”. Those ridiculous words came out of the mouth of the then Democrat House Majority leader, Nancy Pelosi, concerning Obamacare. The thing is – the democrats who passed this bill obviously thought that way of thinking was just fine. Go figure. I would never support any President who has run up a 6 Trillion dollar deficit in little over 3 years. And, no, I did not like the spending of former President George W. Bush either. I would never support a President and or a party whose economic goal was to place as many Americans on government assistance in order for them to become a permanent voting block for them. I would never vote for a President who would proclaim that “We are not a Christian Nation” as President Obama did on April 6, 2009 to a worldwide TV audience in Turkey. I beg to differ as we have always been just that. He made a decision to change that all on his own which is appalling. Well, I have many more examples of why I am a conservative and not a Democrat, but most folks of with good sense know those other reasons anyway.
